We're embarking on an epic day trip to Rangitoto Island, and you're invited! Just a short ferry ride from Auckland, this adventure is the perfect escape from the city hustle. And the best part? It's all organized by LyLo, starting with a meetup at the reception.

Rangitoto, Auckland's youngest and most iconic volcanic island, offers breathtaking panoramic views, unique lava caves, and the world’s largest pohutukawa forest. We'll hike to the summit, explore the caves, and enjoy the stunning scenery that makes Rangitoto a must-visit.

Don’t worry about packing lunch; we’ve got the picnic sorted. Let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.

Itinerary:

8:15 - meeting at reception

8:25-9:00 - walk to the Ferry terminal

9:30 - ferry to Rangitoto from Auckland Downtown Ferry Terminal (app. 25 min.)

9:45-15:00 - walk to Rangitoto summit, around lava caves, picnic with a view of Auckland skyline, and back to the Warf (app. 13km walking)

15:30 - ferry back to the city

16:30 - back at LyLo

What to bring:

E-ticket for the ferry - buy at Travel Shop next to the reception

Water (at least 2,5l per person) - there is no possibility to buy anything on the island
