About this experience

A Day to Discover the Best of Sydney

Explore the heart of Sydney in just one day with this locally-curated, self-guided tour. From iconic landmarks to vibrant neighbourhoods, this route will give you the perfect snapshot of the city's must-see sights.

Start Your Day at Cafe Portico

Kick off your adventure with a delicious breakfast at Cafe Portico, located just a two-minute walk from the hotel. This popular spot is a favourite among both guests and staff, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere to begin your day.

The Rocks

Next, head to The Rocks, a charming neighbourhood known for its historic laneways, stunning harbour views, and some of Sydney’s oldest pubs. The walk will take you less than 15 minutes, or you can catch the train from Wynyard Station to Circular Quay, just one stop away.

Sydney Opera House

No visit to Sydney is complete without seeing the iconic Sydney Opera House. This world-famous building is a masterpiece of 20th-century architecture, offering a striking contrast against the backdrop of the harbour. Be sure to snap a photo!

Royal Botanic Gardens

Take a peaceful stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens, located just a short walk from the Opera House. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in this beautiful garden, home to over 416 hectares of Australian native plants. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature.

Glenmore Hotel

For a taste of traditional Sydney, head to the Glenmore Hotel, a charming heritage pub with panoramic 180-degree views of the harbour. Spread over three levels, the venue offers gourmet food, a cocktail bar, and a rooftop that’s perfect for relaxing while soaking in the view. The Glenmore is one of the last surviving buildings from the pre-Harbour Bridge era, adding to its historic charm.

Weekend Market at The Rocks

If you’re visiting on the weekend, don’t miss the open-air market at The Rocks. Running from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM along George Street, it’s a great place to explore local crafts and enjoy delicious street food.

Bar 83 at Sydney Tower

End your day with breath-taking views at Bar 83, located 83 floors above ground level atop Westfield Sydney Tower. It’s the highest bar in Sydney, offering spectacular views as the sun sets.

Note: While walk-ins are usually available on weekdays, we recommend making a reservation for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings.
