Tickets cost €3.30 for a cruise, but better value to get a day ticket for €7.80 for the inner area. You can also get a group day pass for €14.80, which covers up to five people, but saves you money even if it's just the two of you. You can buy tickets at the stations, you can also buy tickets using the MVG app (available in English).\n\nFor a free city tour, take tram 19 at Hauptbahnhof Süd to St Veit-Straße past some of Munich's top sights. If you stay in the city for a while, you can get a weekly IsarCard - the cost is based on the number of 'rounds' on the map you use. For the central area (two rounds), it costs €15.40 per person. The Munich Pass and the Munich City Card also include unlimited public transport.\n\nMunich's airport is about 35 km from the city. You can get to and from the airport by train S8 and (slightly slower) S1. A ticket to or from the airport costs 11.60€ per person, but it is only €13 for a day pass or €24.30 for a group day pass."},{"type":"text","content":"# Olympiapark and Englischer Garten"},{"metadata":{"width":1000,"height":750},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FapEXfBieJSbaakW6U8Dz%2FMunich_-_Olympiapark_3.jpg?alt=media&token=0ad99000-d297-4284-b3ca-480f6fe6207a"},{"type":"text","content":"Munich is a surprisingly green city with lots of parks to relax in. The largest and most famous is the Englischer Garten - or the English Garden. It was built in 1789 and is one of the largest city parks in the world. It is inspired by classic English gardens with lawns, lakes, streams and pavilions. Take in the view from the Greek-style Monopteros, drink beer at a Chinese temple, and watch surfers on the Eisbach River, where a stretch of concrete creates constant waves.\n\nThere is also Olympiapark just outside the city center. The park was built for the Olympic Games in 1972 and is now a large green space that is the perfect spot for a summer picnic. In August, there are free concerts by the lake - or you can regularly eavesdrop on big names performing concerts at the Olympic Stadium.
