You can drive the length of it, but there are also walking and biking trails, and special sights to see along the way. There is a new swing bridge at the eastern end. A wander round the stunning sculpture garden was completed by enjoying the view from a very comfy beanbag. Staff were welcoming and knowledge - many thanks indeed. Main reason for visiting, I have a picture of my Grandmother taken approx 100 years ago on this beach. So it was kind of a trip down memory lane of the pic I have of her.\nLovely sandy beach to walk along, also a board walk type area also. Not just a museum, it is interactive, immersive, and you’ll get a guided tour where you will learn more about the fascinating art in this area of New Zealand. After my visit I was even able to visit one of the nearby sites on my own nearby and it was just fantastic! The scene was smiling upon the autumn day when I visited and there were perennials out in luxuriant bloom.
