Not bearing the strong and slightly fierce look of Kuang Si waterfall in Luang Prabang, Kaeng Nyui is in the peaceful, gentle state of the dry season. The waterfall flows from a height of 30 meters, but not too intense, so you can relax, soak in the clear water and listen to the sounds of the natural mountains."},{"type":"text","content":"Once there, follow a magical jungle trail through small pools, waterfalls, and charming wooden bridges. Visa on arrival in Laos is possible at both airports for most nationalities - bring 1 passport photo and US dollars to pay the visa application fee, although they may also accept Thai Baht. Visa application fee on arrival in Laos ranges from 30 USD to 40 USD depending on your nationality (+1 USD visa service fee), and in general Laos tourist visa is valid for 30 days.\n* You can get a local Laos SIM card at the airport for a very cheap price and an amazingly strong internet connection.\n* Before going to Vang Vieng, be sure to download these maps to your phone from Hobo Maps: Vang Vieng town map, Vang Vieng area map & Vang Vieng north map. Most places in town will sell hard copies of the map, but you can access them online for free.\n* The currency is Lao Kip, and the exchange rate ranges from about 8000-8600 LAK: 1 USD. There are many places to change money in Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng, and there are also ATMs where you can withdraw money.\n* The best time to go to Vang Vieng to swim in the blue lagoons is from around October to March. During this time, the blue lagoons are beautiful and really blue (and not the color). brown and murky - check out the photo below!). The summer months can be miserable with torrential downpours, but rain means lush rice fields and stunning waterfalls from June to August"}]},{"address":"Nam Xay Viewpoint","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":18.923036105444194,"longitude":102.38669920000002},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Nam Xay Viewpoint"},{"metadata":{"width":1000,"height":667},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FsxmV8y9IDNUmzjeH5RML%2FNam-Xay.jpg?alt=media&token=1d9dddcb-0486-40f5-a5f8-7e7ed9751bf6"},{"type":"text","content":"If you love conquering the mountains and watching the majestic nature from above, you cannot ignore Nam Xay Top View when coming to Vang Vieng. It will only take you about 20-25 minutes to climb to the top of the mountain. Surely you will have to admire when standing on the top of the mountain, zooming in, and watching the whole Vang Vieng stretching to the horizon. A scene that will leave an indelible mark in the mind of any visitor when arriving here.\n* Opening times/entrance fee: 6AM-5PM/ 10,000 KIP\n\n* Getting there: The viewpoint is about 20 minutes driving from Vang Vieng and close to Blue Lagoon 1. Once you have parked the bike, it is roughly a 30-minute medium-difficult hike to the top. However, the hike is one hundred percent worth it for the incredible panoramic views! Make sure to leave shortly after sunset so you're not walking down when it's very dark.\n\n* Good to know: There are lots of different viewpoints to see in Vang Vieng. If you have the energy to hike up and see more, you should also try Pha Ngern viewpoint and Pha Hon Kham cliff point."},{"metadata":{"width":576,"height":1024},"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FsxmV8y9IDNUmzjeH5RML%2Ft%E1%BA%A3i%20xu%E1%BB%91ng%20(1).mp4?alt=media&token=b6317893-4f02-4395-a7cb-87c08879c230"}]},{"address":"Blue Lagoon 1 and Phu Kham Cave Vang Vieng","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":18.926295955445216,"longitude":102.39543735},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Swimming in Blue Lagoon"},{"metadata":{"width":650,"height":433},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FsxmV8y9IDNUmzjeH5RML%2Fdong-poukham-1.jpg?alt=media&token=07b562b4-6b81-4d1f-9c2c-9f578f0936e7"},{"type":"text","content":"This is a natural blue lake, located about 10Km from the center of Vang Vieng. They are all located across the river from Vang Vieng Town. To get to any of the 3 blue lagoons in Vang Vieng, you will need to take a tuk tuk or rent a scooter/ATV. I do not recommend renting a bike to get to the blue lagoon as it is at least 7km from Vang Vieng town to Blue Lagoon 1, the nearest lagoon.\n\nYou can expect to pay around 80-100,000 Kip to rent a scooter for the day. The easiest way to get to the blue lagoons in Vang Vieng is to simply rent a tuk tuk - just make sure you agree on a price before stepping in. We paid around 250,000 Kip (30 USD) to rent a tuk tuk for 6 hours (including waiting time). The tuk tuk driver knows the directions to the different lagoons. You will also have to pay a small fee (about 10,000 Kip) to cross the wooden bridge over the Nam Song River.\n\nThe most famous hot spot in Vang Vieng is Blue Lagoon 1. For this reason, it is also the busiest with tourist buses coming here for a day trip. In addition to the lagoon, it also has a long zip line and Phu Kham Cave for skiing enthusiasts. Hope you know, the lagoon has a few species of fish so don't be surprised if you get gnawed a few times!"},{"metadata":{"width":800,"height":510},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FsxmV8y9IDNUmzjeH5RML%2FFish-in-Blue-Lagoon-1-in-Vang-Vieng-Laos.jpg?alt=media&token=b374abf7-397a-4f44-814a-905ec4fd76c2"},{"type":"text","content":"The entrance fee is 10,000 Kip/person."}]},{"address":"Villa Nam Song Vang Vieng","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":18.921487305443712,"longitude":102.4451735},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Villa Nam Song Vang Vieng"},{"type":"text","content":"This is an ideal stop when you travel in Vangvieng.
