It was made famous by the movie The Darkest Hour. \n\nThe museum is on the Clive steps of King Charles Street in Westminster. It’s one of London’s best museums.\n\nThe exhibits are immersive and expansive. I would recommend no less than 2 hours. You can hear excerpts of rousing Churchill speeches and first hand accounts of life during WWII. A highlight is a huge 15 meter touchscreen table that chronicles Churchill’s life and the timeline of the war. These buildings were impressive with gothic architecture from the 17th century. Also since it was a week day, we weren’t able to tour the Parliament buildings either. However, if you visit on a Saturday, you are able to tour. We marveled at these buildings from the outside and had a great time walking along the Thames River with the amazing views of the city in this area.\n\nYou only need to budget about 15 minutes to see Big Ben. The tower is beautiful, but you don’t need that much time to appreciate it. I suggest gazing at Big Ben after a spin around the London Eye as you walk to St. James’s Park."},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2FSnaptik.app_7165611019170041093.mp4?alt=media&token=e1eec9d0-3227-4b3d-a27c-0e2cefe7c1ea"}]},{"address":"Palace of Westminster","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":51.49951701996391,"longitude":-0.12548119999998608},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Palace of Westminster"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(2).mp3?alt=media&token=4c55852e-ec5e-4c90-b33f-69f3b5681b7b"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2F58be63cf7f849a003eeb13f1f3cd8f02.jpg?alt=media&token=67943251-31a1-4ed2-a96a-640534b8f004"},{"type":"text","content":"The UNESCO-listed Palace of Westminster is the home of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. You can step inside British history and tour parliament any day but Sunday.\n\nHighlights of the grand building include the House of Commons and Westminster Hall, where Guy Fawkes – who attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament – was put on trial.\n\nYou can reserve tickets online or buy same-day tickets from the Box Office in front of Portcullis House on the Victoria Embankment. It has served as the coronation church for the monarchy since 1066 and is the final resting place for many famous British monarchs, statesmen, and scientists. Visiting Westminster Abbey is a truly awe-inspiring experience. The abbey's intricate Gothic architecture, rich history, and numerous monuments create a sense of grandeur that is unmatched by any other church in the world. Walking through the nave and seeing famous tombs and memorials, such as those of Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin, is a humbling experience that offers a glimpse into Britain's rich cultural heritage. For anyone interested in history and architecture, a visit to Westminster Abbey is a must-see attraction.\n\nSome tips for you:\n* London Pass gives you free access to Westminster Abbey, but it doesn’t provide a fast lane entry: you’ll have to stand in the queue like everybody else!\n\n* Join a guided tour of the Abbey, departing throughout the day from the information desk. You’ll pay £5.00 additional charge at the entrance to be part of this 90-minute tour. Since they are limited to 20 people, you need to contact the Abbeys Information Desk on +44 (0)20 7654 4834 to book your place.\n\n* You can also book private guided tours here which is around the same price, but you’ll have your voucher in advance.\n\n* If you feel like exploring the place on your own, pick up an audio guide at the entrance, which is free with admission.\n\n* Photos and video are not allowed in the Abbey.\n\n* Dress appropriately (it is usually quite cold inside during winter!)"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2Ff.mp4?alt=media&token=100fbcdb-8729-4fdf-b598-1a7f006a9cf2"}]},{"address":"Cellarium Cafe & Terrace","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":51.498714119963374,"longitude":-0.1284824999999934},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Cellarium Cafe & Terrace"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(1).mp3?alt=media&token=925e672b-8f84-4b0b-ae10-4c678ee3c3dc"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2Ffff.jpg?alt=media&token=a37060ad-794b-482c-9885-d8e20114820d"},{"type":"text","content":"After exploring the above wonderful places, I decided to stop at Cellarium Cafe & Terrace. This is a rehttps://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2Ffff.jpg?alt=media&token=a37060ad-794b-482c-9885-d8e20114820dally great choice. Cellarium is set over two floors in Westminster Abbey. Enter through the stunning cloisters to enjoy coffee, cake, afternoon tea or lunch. Breakfast is also served from 8am on weekdays. The cellars are cool and tranquil and the small outdoor terrace is a lovely sunny spot in the summer. I enjoyed our lunch here. I had thought there would be outside tables, but I didn't see any (and given the heat when we were there we would have sat inside anyway). They serve lunch and tea, all very informal. We were glad we had reservations, as it was a bit full but was by far the most convenient option for us after our 10 am tour. Wonderful lemonade!"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FyampgyAT5cRRmrev35yO%2F%C4%91.mp4?alt=media&token=11047b6b-de30-4be5-81a9-9f2b4be7195d"}]}]
