The view from the ramparts of the fortress is truly spectacular; it goes from Monte Amiata, across the Crete to Siena, and crosses the entire Val d'Orcia to the hills of the Maremma.\nThe fortress has remained practically intact since the Middle Ages and often becomes the ideal setting for festivals, events, and concerts, such as the famous Jazz & Wine Festival, held in July every year, where the pleasure of listening to both italian and international jazz are perfectly combined with that of good drink!\n\nThe narrow streets and alleys of Montalcino are truly enchanting and the village is the ideal place to stroll through the labyrinth of delightful arts and crafts shops, cafes, restaurants and wine bars. The good thing about this almost surreal premise is that the path that runs along the river allows for easy access to the hot springs!\n\nTaking advantage of these spas is completely free!\nThe area is quite large, but the first pools you meet along the path near the road are shallow, so they don't keep warm for long.
