This magnificent institution is a true testament to the power of art and literature and is one of the most unique and fascinating museums in the city.\n\nFounded by the financier Pierpont Morgan in 1906, the Morgan Library & Museum is a stunning combination of a private library, museum, and cultural center. The museum's vast collection includes rare books, manuscripts, drawings, prints, and other works of art that showcase the history of civilization from ancient times to the present day. From illuminated manuscripts and rare books to works by some of the world's most famous artists and writers, the Morgan has something for everyone to enjoy.\n\nRight in front of us, you'll see the grand entrance to this Beaux-Arts building, which was originally built as the private library of J.P. Morgan, one of America's most important financiers. As we step inside, we'll be transported to a world of illuminated manuscripts, rare books, and precious artifacts, showcasing the beauty and ingenuity of human creativity.\n\nOne of the unique features of the Morgan Library & Museum is its stunning original building, which is a beautiful example of neo-classical architecture. The library is renowned for its stunning reading room, which is lined with shelves filled with rare books and manuscripts, and its beautiful central court, which is surrounded by elegant columns and stained glass windows.\n\nIf your accommodation is in the city center or in one of the other districts, you will need to plan your route in advance and may need to take the subway. You can take the subway to Grand Central Station, 33rd Street Station or 34th Street-Herald Square Station, then complete an easy walk to the Morgan Library.\n\nThe cost to visit this place is $20, but trust me, it's well worth it. If you're a budget traveler you should visit the Morgan Library and Museum on Friday nights (7-9pm) when all are free to enter. The atmosphere at night is probably super cool too."},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FNYMgjohy1rltM3q9yHE7%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(5).mp3?alt=media&token=dfb2ad3f-a29f-43c0-be19-6d7d89017f4b"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FNYMgjohy1rltM3q9yHE7%2F10morgan-library-4-superJumbo.jpg?alt=media&token=04bb8021-e7f1-42d4-8eec-8e67a0345e19"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FNYMgjohy1rltM3q9yHE7%2FCopy%20of%20FreeGuides%20Experience%20Cover%20Template%20(2).png?alt=media&token=fb98f9d3-a53d-4dfe-9108-b98e6e2fb6ac"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FNYMgjohy1rltM3q9yHE7%2FSnaptik.app_7030829713467723013.mp4?alt=media&token=06863419-c39d-4936-a837-f369be1bd78e"}]},{"address":"The Metropolitan Museum of Art","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":40.77890376369733,"longitude":-73.96272620000002},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# The Metropolitan Museum of Art"},{"type":"text","content":"Our next stop is the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This museum is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and is dedicated to the art and architecture of medieval Europe.\n\nWe have arrived at the entrance of The Cloisters, set within Fort Tryon Park and surrounded by beautiful gardens. As we look around, you'll see the museum is comprised of several medieval monasteries that have been reconstructed brick by brick and brought to this location to create a peaceful and serene atmosphere.\n\nAs you step inside The Cloisters, you will be transported back in time to the Middle Ages. The museum is designed to resemble a medieval European monastery, complete with beautiful gardens, tranquil courtyards, and stunning views of the Hudson River. The architecture and design of the museum are a work of art in themselves, and visitors will be struck by the beauty and serenity of the surroundings.\n\nThe museum's collection is equally impressive, with over 5,000 objects on display, including illuminated manuscripts, textiles, metalwork, sculptures, and other artifacts from the medieval period. One of the highlights of the collection is the Unicorn Tapestries, a set of seven magnificent textiles that depict the hunt and capture of the mythical unicorn. The tapestries are considered some of the finest examples of medieval European art, and they are a must-see for anyone visiting The Cloisters.\n\nAnother unique aspect of The Cloisters is its gardens, which are designed to resemble the type of gardens that would have been found in medieval monasteries. The gardens feature a variety of plants, including herbs, flowers, and fruit trees, and they are a peaceful and serene escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City.\n\nSome tips when visit here: \nWear comfortable shoes: The museum is spread out over several buildings and outdoor spaces, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes for exploring.\n\nTake advantage of the audio guide: The audio guide provides in-depth information about the museum's collection and architecture, and it is a great way to learn more about the medieval period."},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FNYMgjohy1rltM3q9yHE7%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(7).mp3?alt=media&token=18e0fc33-b98c-4a68-bb75-14a54ab97ca4"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FNYMgjohy1rltM3q9yHE7%2FSnaptik.app_7169014104462495022.mp4?alt=media&token=96f6beec-a46f-4ed4-be55-004c0e1746f1"}]},{"address":"The Trie Café","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":40.8643891137387,"longitude":-73.93163409999998},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# The Trie Café"},{"type":"text","content":"To wrap up our tour, let's grab a coffee and sit down to rest for a bit at a local coffee shop.
