The borderline between Poland and the Czech Republic runs across the mountain. Śnieżka is 1603 meters above the sea level high. On the top of the mountain, there is the meteorological station where temperature changes are observed by scientists. This is one of the windiest places in Poland. Record of wind speed noted there reaches 288 km/h.
