Its original name was Fortezza Revellino del Porto and its main use was defensive but it was also the headquarters of the Army Commander in town. Inside, there were areas devoted to the storage of ammunition.\n\nAfter the arrival of the Turks, the structure was used as barracks for the Ottoman soldiers, and it was then when it got the name of Firkas (which in Turkish means barrack). It's very small, one of the smallest I've ever saw.\nYali has a very decorative exterior made of bricks and hand painted color tiles.
