Suggested by a friend, this great little restaurant didn't disappoint, both with easy seating on a Monday at 7:30pm and then we were able to snag the last table at 8:00pm on a Saturday. You'll want a reservation for the weekend.\n\nOctopus was the star dish, cooked perfectly, but we also really really enjoyed the tuna avocado dish and steak sandwich. Both nights we had different good bottles of red Portuguese wine. This place does not take reservations. Our unsuccessful attempt was at around 7 pm when apparently all the tables were booked already by hungry people who waited in line at around 5:30 pm. Hearing this advice, we came back the next day at around 5:35 pm to confront the line. Even the waitress mentioned that it gets rather stressful to seat bigger parties.\n\n2) They have a unique way of presenting the menu. There is no paper menu; no QR code. The waitress/waiter brings over a huge chalkboard and goes through all the options for the day to each individual table. This accommodates the changing menu that is rumored to be different every day. We each got two glasses of red wine to pair with our four tapas. They recommend about 3-4 tapas for a table of two.\n\nA. Scallops - There were four scallops in its shell with a delicious butter concoction. I only wished this came with more scallops. It was that DELICIOUS.\n\nB. Razor clams - The sauce over it was very simple, which amplified the unique taste of the razor clams. It was topped with very salty kelp pieces, which was a perfect contrast to the simple tasting razor clams.\n\nC. Swordfish over cauliflower puree - I do believe this was my favorite dish on the entire trip. The fish was medium rare topped with toasted caramelized sweet capers. Who knew capers could be this good! The cauliflower puree was simple and creamy. The plate looked clean after we devoured it so did the plates on other tables.\n\nD. Fried tapioca block - I loved how she recommended this dish to us after we asked for a vegetarian option. Haha. No leafy greens here. It was very good with a jam topping.\n\nE. Cheesecake - not the same texture as American cheesecake. We didn't like it as much as we would like.\n\nF. Chocolate mousse - super delightful.\n\nThe entire bill with the 4 glasses of wine was only 70 euros! OOH-RAH!\n\n- The Potato Skins (€3.95) were good, crispy and had a simple, tasty garlic mayo sauce on top even though I was expecting 'American-style' with bacon, etc.\n\n- The homemade Lime and Berry Ade (€3.95) were both good\n\n- The Salgadieras Hamburgers ((€9.45) came with cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, tomato, and mayo on a homemade seeded bun and were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ... we all agreed that they were the best burgers we all have had in a long time, stateside or in Europe ... HOOAH!\n\n- The prices were very fair, considering the portion sizes and quality of the 100% homemade food\n\n- The Key Lime Pie and Cheesecake (€4.95 each) were scrum-diddly-umptious\n\n- Our server, João, was extremely friendly, professional, and informative ...
