Despite being busy, the staff welcomed us kindling and made sure we had a pre-dinner drink in hand. One of our number was a little late arriving but he too was made welcome. Cocktails included the Andiamo espresso martini with a touch of gingerbread syrup (amazing) and Andiamo fizz with gin, elderflower, cucumber, lemon and prosecco. So good we had to have seconds. Shared plates included the chilli calamari on Bagna cauda, which was perfectly cooked and layered the flavours in a truly amazing manner. The Andiamo bruschetta was both pretty and delicious, with delicate curls of shaved pear and the mushroom dish (Truffled burrata) came with a creamy fresh cheese which combined the delicate flavours divinely. Two of us had the squid, with a hint of chilli and a strong middle flavour of smoked almond which gave an unusual earthy flavour to the dish, which I enjoyed. One of us begged for the four-cheese macaroni, which he'd had previously and couldn't go past. Finally Andiamo provided a courtesy birthday platter to our celebrator and brought out some really excellent armagnac to round off the night. Nothing was over-flavoured but everything was complex and delicious. W need plant based to save the world we know that.\nOnly thing is menu is high on junky type foods ('comfort'.. or discomfort as it should be known on the long run). For those of us wanting healthier (and still tasty, it's not either/or) options it's a bit limited in that respect tbh. Lots of fried and high fat /oil fare which I recommend my patients not to eat health's sake. Just needs 2 or 3 healthier options and something for dessert and I'd come back much more often. Don't think it's too much to ask. Had the Aloo tiki burger which was quite tasty but a bit oily, but the salt which I asked for in place of fries was just a bigger handful of mixed salad than the standard, no veggies nor e.g. tomatoes etc. Burger isn't that filling either.\n\nIt's also pretty dear so for the prices I'd hope for a bit more.
